Angels & Demons

I have promised a method by which you will get to know yourself and find out what will bring you happiness – with an underlined “You”. Very specific way how to get to know and understand yourself. Find out what you want, put it into practice and then live happily ever after.

The first step was to think about your long-term vision. I proposed three questions that you should consider and take your time to give an answer. It would also be a good idea to write it down. Over time, the vision will change or become more concrete.

Once you have an outline of the vision, you have to think about how to get there. I wrote about points A and B and about their connecting road, more or less curved. Vision gives us point B, but you have to think about point A, being your current situation. It seems trivial. You know where you work, study, live and very often you are able to immediately list a lot of things or people who annoy you.

Where do you start?

In my opinion, point A is not just where you live, work or study, whether you are in a relationship or not. It is what you are, what you like, and whether you understand yourself well. In the next steps you will have to take yourself more carefully. For example: are you more prone to crazy trips to the unknown, or would you rather stay at home and read a book? Or, are you more caring about yourself or about others?

Basic Principle

And now, it is necessary to determine the basic, necessary, indisputable principle. According to the generally prevailing opinion, we know that taking care only of yourself is BAD, and taking care of others is GOOD. And here I have to ask you to completely stop thinking about what is GOOD and what is BAD. First of all, each of the extremes has its pros and cons. Secondly, each of us has a place on the scale somewhere between focusing completely on ourselves and dealing only with the good of others. There are also moments in which we are more likely to go with a flaw, or moments when we prefer to be more assertive. It’s about getting to know yourself. Without judging and bending your real nature. Only if you are honest with yourself, you will find out where to start! For example, if your deepest need is to help others, it will be better to plan a future in which you can do it. You can be a teacher, a doctor, look after animals or go somewhere as a volunteer. On the other hand, you if get motivated by self-improvement and achieving individual successes, professional tennis or working in a business will be more rewarding for you. What is important, because things tend to change in life, it is good to refer to your own nature in difficult times. If you know yourself, then despite the fact that you have a hard day, you know that you are doing something that gives you happiness.

Be late for something day

You can approach the passage of time with distance and understanding.
It is better to get somewhere a little later but with a smile. It’s not the best idea to arrive sharp on time but breathless, disheveled or in a bad makeup.

Pleasure or just no pain?

Is hedonism good or bad? Of course, this attitude has both sides. Take a quiz to see how much hedonistic your soul is!
